A New Home For The Ages

A New Home For The Ages

Where do we start with the latest news. Since our last update on the build a lot has happened. Concrete floors have now been poured, windows and doors have been installed, office's and toilets have been built, car parks along side their gardens beds have been put into place. At this point we were handed the keys to our new factories.

But their was one down side, and that is that we had to wait a few more weeks until the power was switched on in the new site.

Then the big task of moving had to begin. Thanks to Daisy at A1 Precision Solutions, her team were able to come in and fit out factory 11 with pallet racking.

This is to house our engines, transmissions, diffs, body sections and gearboxes. Our hoist were then moved over by the guys at W.A Fink & Son. Then it was just a matter of setting up the smaller items such as the compressor and air lines, hydraulic press, wheel balancing and alignment machine and so on.

We got Justin in from Prime Signs to paint our logo on the walls of factories 6,7 & 11, including the front wall panels that required our logo.

The largest task we had to complete was to build the racking that would fill factories 6 & 7. A huge thank you to Matt and the team at Safer Storage Systems. For around 6 weeks their team worked hard to get our raised storage area built to suit our needs.

And what a result! Still has some finishing touches to complete but we couldn't be happier with this build.

We have been busy adjusting the shelving to suit our needs. The stock will be arranged on the shelf as per the BMW ETK groups. Every part number will be placed onto the shelf numerically. Starting from 11 group (engine components) all the way to 84 group (communication systems). A pair of roll over cages are due to be installed this week into each factory.

This gives us nearly 2000 square meters of shelving space between the bottom and top floor. Our office team have not moved in yet as we are stilling waiting for the NBN to be connected to the new site.

Things have now come to a hold due to the COVID virus and Melbourne's stage 4 lock-down restrictions.
